Meet Sheldon the vampire bat, taking time out from having his left fang measured in ‘Understanding Statistics’ (Naiman, Rosenfeld and Zirkel, 3rd Ed., 1983) to star in this pendant necklace.
Sheldon is a true vampire bat (accept no imitations); unlike some others -- including the pendant in our flying bat necklace -- you can see the telltale shmooshed up schnozz in the close-up.
Did you know that Europeans didn’t associate the vampire with the bat until Bram Stoker had the bright idea when he wrote ‘Dracula?’
Talk about having your rep ruined by bad press!
But I digress.
Sheldon the vampire bat has a wingspan of 2-3/4”.
He was stamped and generously gold plated in the 1950s, and is a very high quality piece.
Sheldon dangles from a 16” gold plate chain that closes with a lobster claw clasp.
It’s a genuine vampire bat necklace from SPARKLE PLENTY.
