The light Siam ruby teardrops are very old (definitely pre-WWII, and possibly as early as the 1920s) Czech glass, and the differences in colour among them is part of their charm. The centre of the pendant is a vintage West German light Siam ruby floral motif glass stone, studio-set in a sew-on finding. I've also used vintage Czech firepolish crystal in light amethyst abd ultra-light amethyst with an aurora boreale finish, and Swarovski peridot crystal 3mm bicone beads; and a whole bunch of Japanese and Czech seed beads in co-ordinating colours. The beads are hand fastened (by me) to vintage high-quality silver tone filigree findings; then a second finding is attached by a picot edge of light amethyst seed beads, sandwiching all the threadwork between the two metal pieces, and away from buttons and other potential snagging hazards. The finished pendant is roughly 60mm (2-3/8") in diameter. PLEASE NOTE: These pendants are literally unique: one-of-a-kind; and are made by a process I am dis-inclined (is that a word?) to share with anyone. This is NOT an item that every Thomasina, Dickea and Harriette will be able to buy from numerous vendors on That Auction Site. If you are looking for the truly different, you've just found it. The pendant is suspended from 28-1/2" of lavender seed beads, Swarovski crystal light Siam ruby bicones and 6mm peridot green bicone drop beads. Rich, regal and romantic, the pendant and the necklace could only come from SPARKLE PLENTY.
