I am blessed to remember my grandmothers, as beautiful, fun-loving and wildly eccentric a pair of old ladies as ever there was.

When I saw these fabulous old acrylic beads, they put me in mind of my grandmothers at once.

The beads are hollow, so are extremely lightweight, which is lucky, for they're HUGE: 1-1/8" long by 1" wide.

They're octagonal, with smooth sides alternated with textured sides that are set with sparkling clear crystal rhinestones.

'Moonglow' acrylic -- as the name implies -- is quite opalescent.

I've added Swarovski crystal rhinestone set gold plate beads, and a fringe of golden glass seed beads and Swarovski crystal beads.

The earrings measure about 3-1/2" from the tops of their gold fill French hooks to the bottom of the longest fringe element.
