FINALLY! A bookmark that dares to go boldly where no bookmark has gone before (NB: I didn't split the infinitive). Since both sides of the pewter shepherd's crook bookmark feature images of stars, planets and what I choose to see as nebulae, I've added a hopefully recognisable embellishment. It's a Cheyenne stitch image of the Starship Enterprise (from a pattern by Irene Louise) in orbit above a blue-green planet. Please note that in Cheyenne stitch, each teeny-tiny bead is sewn into place one at a time: a painstaking and time-consuming operation. I've suspended the beadwork from the 5-5/8" long pewter piece using a pair of star-shaped beads and a yellow-green bead known -- appropriately enough -- as a Saturn bead. Here's a great gift idea for that hard-to-buy-for person on your gift list, or for the Trekkie who has everything .... except a hand-beaded bookmark to keep a place in the latest Fan-zine. It's another thoughtful gift from SPARKLE PLENTY. All of our one of a kind and limited edition artisan beaded jewelry is individually handcrafted in our studio in Los Angeles, California.
