Mr. Peacock and the stylized tree (studded with a ruby, a sapphire and a pair of opals) are pressed out of either gold fill or VERY high quality gold plate.
The same applies to the filigreed trim and the Chinese character on the obverse side of the flat malachite oval.
The character, by the bye, is pronounced 'fu' in Cantonese, and means 'happiness and good luck.'
The pendant is about 1-1/2 inches wide by 2 inches long, and is suspended from a 16-inch strand of malachite, hematite and glass pearl beads, with gold filled accents.
The clasp is a gold plate hook set.
