Since amethyst is a variety of quartz, it is not at all uncommon to find it alongside its clear or frosty-clear cousins. When a lapidary cuts the stone across the two, it results in 'chevron amethyst,' as in the dagger pendants I've used in this collar necklace. The pendants graduate in size from roughly 1" to 1-1/2" long. Each is spaced with a tiny 3mm amethyst bead.
