There are days when I simply cannot live and be happy without making something truly over-the-top. This is the product of one such day. It consists of a tube needlewoven out of large seed beads in spiral bands of fuchsia and Mediterranean blue. The tube is fringed with smaller seed beads in the same colours as those in the tube, and the fringes end in iridescent 'shooting star' shaped freshwater pearls. The strand features the larger seed beads and oval freshwater pearls that match the pearls in the fringe. Because of their iridescence, these pearls are known as 'peacock pearls.' The strand is about 24" long, and closes with a pewter toggle set in the shape of a dragonfly. The tassels dangle about 2-1/2" below the tube.
