This truly one of a kind necklace shimmers with silver foiled Miriam Haskell beads and matching bead caps.
Both beads and caps are lampwork -- individually made over an open flame -- and as with all such things, no two are exactly alike; each is a treasure unto itself.
They were handmade in France in the early 1950s for the famous jewelry designer, Miriam Haskell.
Not only the necklace is one of a kind, but the components are one of a kind!
I've added 8mm vintage West German crystal that's a delicious combination of ruby and clear.
The larger beads are joined by a triple strand of tiny 3.5mm pale green Czech round glass 'bubble' beads from the 1930s, and palest sparkling pink seed beads.
I set the rose and spring green opal crystal rhinestones in the silver plate clasp myself(yes, the clasp, too, is one of a kind).
In how many ways can one flowery, feminine piece of wearable art be one of a kind?
We're willing to explore the possibilities at SPARKLE PLENTY.
