Big, beautiful chalk turquoise faceted rectangles are the stars of this show.
My supplier defines chalk turquoise as ' ... a form of natural turquoise that has a white chalk-like consistency. It has the same chemical composition as turquoise, only without the copper (it's the copper that causes the blue turquoise color). Chalk turquoise is also a bit softer than regular turquoise. It is dyed pleasing colors and stabilized with resin to produce beads that are hard enough to use in jewelry.'
These beads average 1-3/8" long by 7/8" wide.
The serpentine arrow pendants that lie between the turquoise beads are also dyed, this time an intriguing golden olive colour.
Neither they nor the chalk turquoise beads will fade.
I've spaced the turquoise and serpentine beads with antiqued gold tone pewter roundels which match the ornate toggle clasp that closes the 17-1/2" strand.
Exotically coloured, exquisitely styled, comfortable to wear and easy on the pocketbook: must be from SPARKLE PLENTY.
