Polymer clay is one of those highly misunderstood arts. These beads are not painted, but are formed by a painstaking process of combining different colours of clay into long cylinders called canes, then slicing the canes into discs and applying those to more clay to form beads. It's far more difficult than it sounds, and unless one can think in 3 or more dimensions, one is doomed to failure. These beads, however, are a notable success. Against a shiny black background, purple and lavender stylized roses with green leaves glow at the viewer. The pendant is a dainty heart, which dangles just 1-1/4" below the 20" strand. In addition to matching polymer clay beads, I've used royal purple gem cut firepolish crystal, plus jet round and new alexandrite bicone crystal beads. The clasp is a rose-motif pewter "S" hook set. Lightweight and lovely, it's from SPARKLE PLENTY, of course. All of our one of a kind and limited edition artisan beaded jewelry is individually handcrafted in our studio in Los Angeles, California.
