The exquisite texturing on the hair sticks is useful as well as decorative: it serves to hold the hair in place better than smooth pewter would do. The hair sticks are about 4-3/4" long. I've added dangles of silver plate leaves and a rose set with a Siam ruby red crystal rhinestone. The dangle ends about 1-3/4" below the top of the hair stick.
