The findings -- with their slight upward curve -- resemble Japanese torii gates; and both colouration and design are deceptively simple. Taken all together, the earrings came out with a very Japanese feel to them ... though I didn't set out with that in my mind at all!? Sometimes, I must simply chalk up a fine result to plain old good luck! The Biwa coin pearls are white with a natural iridescence that is very subtle, even against the matte black of the 4mm blackstone bead "curtain" behind them. Findings are silver plate, except for the hooks, which are sterling. The earrings dangle about 2-1/2" from the tops of their sterling silver French hooks to the bottom of the fringe.
