The pendant is made of a polished blue sodalite doughnut-shaped bead, whose sterling silver bail is in the shape of a hummingbird sipping from a stylized flower. The doughnut (called a "pi bead") is about 1-1/8" in diameter; with the bail, the pendant dangles about 1-1/2" below the strand.

I've used sparkling silver lined crystal seed beads in the strand, as well as 8mm, 6mm and 4mm sodalite beads, and Indonesian sterling silver accents. The entire strand is about 18" long and closes with an ornate pewter hook set.
