This lovely pendant is set with Swarovski crystal light amethyst rhinestones, and has the look of expensive marcasite jewellery, but is really cast pewter. The advantage to pewter is that it contains neither lead nor antimony, so is less likely to cause discomfort to ladies with delicate skin than is nickel or brass, or anything plated over those metals. The pendant has the look of an art nouveau masterpiece and is extremely well-made, I'm guessing VERY recently. I've tried to mimic the colours in the pendant in the seed beads I used to make the 21" strand. There are various shades and finishes of gray and black, along with sparkly light amethyst beads; ten strands in all, gathered together in graceful fluted end caps. The necklace closes an art nouveau motif toggle clasp. Very pretty, and an excellent price considering the work that went into it (not to mention love and pride).
