Although it looks as if the clear beads are carved, they and the large red beads are both moulded acrylic beads. They were made in West Germany in the mid-1950s, and are perfect examples of why such beads are much sought-after today. The largest of the acrylic beads are 18mm in diameter.I've flanked them with lots of old gold coloured pewter findings, and filled out each of the three strands with vintage glass gold-washed red and pearlized red glass beads. The clever hook-and-extender closure gives the necklace a working length of from 18-1/2" to 20", measuring along its shortest strand. It's another unique multi-strand necklace from SPARKLE PLENTY.All of our one of a kind and limited edition artisan beaded jewelry is individually handcrafted in our studio in Los Angeles, California.
