The 30mm diameter red quartz cabochon is dyed to achieve the colour, but it is quartz, so there is a subtle sparkle of copper particles in its depths.I've set it in a bezel of faceted bronze seed beads and embroidered a halo of those same beads, too, plus embellishments of faceted ruby jade (dyed serpentine) and bronze freshwater pearls.The long fringe, gathered into three groups of three strands each, features the same seed beads, ruby jade and pearls, plus dramatic long red bugle beads.The brooch measures 2" at its widest point by 4-7/8" from its top to the tip of its longest fringe element.It attaches with a 1-1/4" silver tone safety catch pin set.
