Goldstone is actually a manmade material in which crushed quartz particles are incorporated into molten glass; the copper particles in the quartz remain when the glass cools in the bead moulds and give the beads their distinctive sparkle.
In this necklace, I've used green goldstone which -- for some reason -- is the most difficult to find of the goldstone colours; and in my opinion, the prettiest.
It is darkly mysterious, with bright peridot sparkles winking from within its depths.
The faceted round beads range in size from 6mm to 10mm, and are spaced with 10mm Italian peridot green seed beads, and needle woven segments of smaller golden glass Japanese seed beads.
The 25" necklace closes with a vintage goldplate clasp set round with rhinestones.
The matching earrings feature 8mm round beads and faceted briolettes.
The dangle a hair less than 2" from the tops of their 14kt gold fill ear wires.
Dark and mysterious, this set is perfect for the lady who doesn't care to tell all!
And it's from SPARKLE PLENTY, of course!
