Beautifully mottled in shades of raspberry and grey, rhodonite is a stone whose warmth belies its cool colour.
This necklace features five highly polished rhodonite ovals that are about 1-1/4 inch long by 5/8 inch wide.
The ovals are torqued; that is, twisted along their length.
I've added matching round 6mm rhodonite, and 4mm hematite beads that play off the grey shades in the stone beads.
The not-quite 20-inch strand closes with a sterling silver lobsterclaw.
In reading up on rhodonite, I discovered that the richest deposit of this lavishly pink beauty is right here in the U.S., in New Jersey.
It's another example of Yankee know-how, brought to you by SPARKLE PLENTY.
